3 dead, 15 injured in explosion at a chemical factory in India
Ahmedabad (Gujarat, India), December 16 (KMS): At least three people were killed and 15 others injured in an explosion in the Indian state of Gujarat, today.
The explosion was so loud that the blast could be heard from several kilometres away at a Gujarat Fluoro Chemicals factory in the Panchmahal district.
Fluorochemicals Limited (GFL) is situated near Ranjitnagar village in Ghoghamba taluka, Panchmahal Superintendent of Police, Leena Patil, said.
“Around 15 workers were injured in the explosion and the subsequent fire. They were shifted to different hospitals. Some of them have sustained severe burn injuries,” the official said.
“A search is on for survivors and injured persons at the spot. The fire is now under control,” Patil said.
