India uses draconian laws to suppress freedom voice in IIOJK: Ghazali
Muzaffarabad, November 15 (KMS): The Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmri, Uzair Ahmad Ghazali has said that the human rights situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has deteriorated.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Uzair Ahmad Ghazali in a statement issued in Muzaffarabad said IIOJK is going through the darkest period in history when India has used its entire military through draconian laws just to suppress the voice of freedom.
He said that the Islamic identity, traditions and culture of the occupied territory were being targeted by the oppressive Indian government. He deplored that thousands of Kashmiri prisoners were being tortured in Indian notorious prisons and their lands were being handed over to Indian forces.
He further said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government led by Narendra Modi has been involved in brutal atrocities against millions of unarmed civilians in the territory.
Uzair Ahmad Ghazali urged the government and people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to play their effective role for the freedom, Islamic identity and other rights of the IIOJK people.
He appealed to the United Nations and other international human rights organizations, including Amnesty International and Asia Watch, to work together for the provision of basic human rights to the people of the territory.
