Kashmir dispute can prove big threat to regional peace: DFP

Srinagar, June 10 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has said that if the Kashmir dispute is not resolved as per the will of the Kashmiri people, it can prove as a big threat to the regional peace and stability.

The DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that it was high time to act on Kashmir, stressing that the United Nations need to take tangible actions in this respect.

He said that the Kashmiri people were looking towards the World Body and their expectations are enormous, adding the Kashmiris know that under the continued Indian occupation their future is dark as New Delhi is playing deceptive games with the world about Kashmir.

The DFP spokesman deplored that when at international level India is asked to resolve Kashmir dispute, it says ‘Kashmir is a bilateral issue between New Delhi and Islamabad and when it is asked to resolve the dispute with Pakistan, India terms Kashmir its ‘internal issue’. On the other hand, he said, New Delhi is continuously killing, jailing, intimidating and harassing Kashmiri people for raising voice for their birthright.

He said, the world bodies, including the UN and European Union (EU) must play their role in resolving the lingering dispute and save the south Asian region from large scale destruction.
