Srinagar, May 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, three Indian soldiers were killed and as many as four Kashmiri youth were martyred in an ongoing military operation by Indian army in Kupwara district.

A senior Army official told media that three soldiers of 4/1 Gorkha Regiment (GR) and four youth were killed in an exchange of fire at Karan in Nowgam area of the district. “The operation is going on,” he said. »

Srinagar, May 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed, today, to mark the martyrdom anniversaries of prominent liberation leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone.

Call for the shutdown and a march towards the Martyrs’ Graveyard at Eidgah in Srinagar has been given by the joint resistance leadership to pay tributes to the martyrs. The puppet authorities have imposed curfew-like restrictions in downtown Srinagar to prevent the march. Indian troops and police personnel have been deployed in strength in Srinagar and other parts of the territory and all roads leading to the office of Awami Action Committee are sealed. »

Srinagar, May 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two Kashmiri youth in Kupwara district on Saturday evening.

The youth were killed in Nowgam area of the district. Indian army officials claimed that youth were killed during an encounter, in which two Indian troops were also killed.

The operation of army was going on in the area, when the last reports came in.

Srinagar, May 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone are among martyrs whose struggle and sacrifices will always be remembered.

Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar remembering the struggle and sacrifices of Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Farooq said that the the Mirwaiz belonged to a family which had always inspired the Kashmiris. He said that Molvi Mirwaiz Farooq himself endured hardships of jails, torture and oppression in the way of freedom but never surrendered before tyranny and oppression. »

Social media has been blocked in the occupied territory since last month when protests against Indian illegal hold on Jammu and Kashmir intensified. »

Srinagar, May 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has urged the people to follow the programmes of joint resistance leadership.

Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressing public gatherings at Seer and Mattan areas said that the brute force used by Indian forces’ personnel on protesters at different places across the Valley was condemnable and the international community should take its strict notice. »

AAC rally prevented, several workers arrested

Srinagar, May 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown will be observed and a march towards the Martyrs’ Graveyard at Eidgah in Srinagar will be conducted, tomorrow, to mark the martyrdom anniversaries of prominent liberation leaders, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone.

Call for the shutdown and march has been given by the joint resistance leadership to pay tributes to the martyrs.

Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at his residence in Srinagar on 21st May 1990. 70 mourners were killed in Hawal area of the city when Indian troops fired upon the funeral procession of the martyred. On the same day, in 2002, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone was killed by unknown assailants when he was returning from Eidgah after addressing a public gathering. »

Detain several workers of AAC

Srinagar, May 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police foiled a rally of workers of Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC), headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in Srinagar, today.

The police arrested several workers of the AAC when they tried to hold a rally in Rajouri Kadal area of old Srinagar city in connection with the Martyrdom Week. »
