Srinagar, August 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, funeral prayers in absentia were held at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) in Awantipora, Pulwama, for a martyred B-Tech engineering student, Irfan Sheikh.

Hundreds of students attended the funeral prayers following which they held protests in the university campus.

“The students raised pro-freedom and pro-Pakistan slogans during the protests, which lasted through the better part of the day,” a student at the university said. »

Srinagar, August 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, despite restrictions, thousands of people participated in the funeral of a martyred youth, Muhammad Ayub Lone, in Pulwama district, today.

Eyewitnesses said that thousands of people from dozens of villages marched towards Lelahaar – the ancestral village of Ayub Lone – in the district despite restrictions imposed by the puppet authorities. They said that the mourners waved Pakistani flags and raised high-pitched pro-Pakistan, pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. »

One lac people attend Ittoo’s funeral

Srinagar, August 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Pakistan’s Independence Day was celebrated with the singing of Pakistan’s national anthem and shouting of “Long Live Pakistan” slogans in Srinagar, Shopian, Islamabad, Pulwama, Kulgam, Badgam and other districts of the territory, today.

Special prayers were offered for safety and integrity of Pakistan and freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from illegal occupation of India. Dukhtaran-e-Millat arranged Independence Day functions in several areas of the territory. Parades were held while Pakistan flag was hoisted in the length and breadth of the territory. Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Aasiya Andrabi, Dr Qasim Faktoo and others in their messages greeted the people and the Government of Pakistan on the Day. Syed Ali Gilani said that the Kashmiris were highly grateful to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for extending its wholehearted moral, political and diplomatic support to their just cause of freedom. He said that Pakistan was the only hope for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. »

The funerals were offered in Nawdal, Batgund, Trich and Saimoh areas of Tral town. The martyrs were laid to rest amid pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. Complete shutdown was observed in the Puwlama district in protest against the killings. Mobile service has also remained suspended in the district for the second day today. »

The youth identified as Aaqib Gul, Javaid Ahmad Shiekh and Sajjad Ahmad Gilkar were martyred in a night-long violent operation of Indian forces in Radbugh village of Badgam district, last night. Aaqib and Sajjad belonged to Srinagar while Tafazul Islam alias Javid Sheikh hailed from Beerwah area of Badgam district. The killings triggered spontaneous shutdown in Srinagar and Badgam areas. Clashes erupted between youth and Indian forces’ personnel on the Airport road in Srinagar. Youth hurled rocks on the police and paramilitary personnel. The troops fired teargas shells on the protesting youth. »
