Srinagar, August 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, fifty additional companies of Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) brought to Kashmir for annual Amaranth Yatra will remain stationed in the territory to suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement.

A CRPF official in an interview in Srinagar said that 100 companies of the paramilitary force were brought for yatra duty out of which 50 companies would remain stationed in the territory.

The additional forces’ personnel deployed for yatra will stay put in Kashmir, special director general of CRPF, SN Srivastava, told a Srinagar-based English daily, Greater Kashmir.

The 50 companies would be in addition to about 55 CRPF battalions already deployed in the Valley for the past one decade. Official figures maintain that around 55 battalions (a battalion has 1000 men) have been deployed in the Kashmir Valley while 15 are stationed in Jammu region.
