Srinagar, August 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has expressed serious concern over the inhuman treatment meted out to its illegally detained Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, at New Delhi’s Tihar Jail.

The DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar, quoting Shabbir Shah’s family members, who met him in jail on Friday, as saying, “Shah Sahib is a diabetic patient. He is not even provided the basic diet.” »

Srinagar, August 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed, today, against the Indian plans to abrogate Article 35A of Indian Constitution to convert Muslim majority of the territory into minority.

Call for the strike was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik and supported by traders of the occupied territory. It was also aimed at condemning the ongoing killing spree by Indian forces and the arrest of Hurriyat leaders by Delhi-based National Investigation Agency and Enforcement Directorate. All shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed while traffic was off the road.

Strike was also observed in Bhadarwah, Doda, Kishtwar, Gandoh and Thathri areas of Jammu region against India’s nefarious plans to change the demographic composition of Jammu and Kashmir by tinkering with the Article 35A. »

Srinagar, August 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities have deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength across the territory ahead of Indian’s Independence Day, the 15th August, causing huge inconvenience to the people.

The deployment of police and paramilitary personnel in and around Srinagar has visibly increased and barricades and check posts have been set up at several points. »

Jaipur, August 12 (KMS): Over 200 Kashmiri students studying in Suresh Gyan Vihar University in Jaipur city of Rajasthan (India) were forced to leave the varsity hostel as the institute did not receive the scholarship amount provided to them by the Indian government.

“We (students) came here in 2014 under the prime minister’s scholarship scheme from Kashmir. There was no issue in the last three years but from this session, the university asked us that we would not be provided the hostel facility because the scholarship amount has not reached them yet,” Arshit Mahmood, a student, told media. »

Srinagar, August 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, fifty additional companies of Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) brought to Kashmir for annual Amaranth Yatra will remain stationed in the territory to suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement.

A CRPF official in an interview in Srinagar said that 100 companies of the paramilitary force were brought for yatra duty out of which 50 companies would remain stationed in the territory. »
