Srinagar, August 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership has warned India of strong reaction against the genocide of Kashmiris, harassment by Delhi-based investigating agencies and plans to abrogate Article 35A with an aim to change the demographic composition of the territory.

The leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement in Srinagar said that Indian rulers backed by Hindu extremist organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh were plotting to change Kashmir’s Muslim majority status by eradicating the state subject law. The leaders said a vicious campaign has been launched on Indian news channels to malign the Kashmiri resistance leadership. They urged people to protest against all such anti-Kashmir moves. Karwan-e-Islami Chief, Maulana Ghulam Rasool Hami addressing a gathering at Rabipora in Gandarbal categorically stated that the abrogation of special status to Jammu and Kashmir would not be acceptable. »

New Delhi, August 08 (KMS): Indian Supreme Court, today, admitted a plea challenging the legality of Article 370 and issued notices to the Indian government for its response on the petition.

As per the plea, Article 370 of Indian Constitution, which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir, has lapsed. The plea also urged to declare the separate constitution of Jammu and Kashmir as illegal. »

Srinagar, August 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik has paid rich tributes to the JKLF martyred activist, Syed Irfan-ul-Hassan Shah on his anniversary.

Remembering Syed Irfan, Yasin Malik, in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed solidarity with his family and pledged to take the struggle of the martyred youth to its logical end. »

Srinagar, August 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership has called for a complete shutdown on Saturday, August 12, to protest against the ongoing genocide of Kashmiris and the Indian plan to abrogate Article 35-A of Indian Constitution that bars settlement of outsiders in Jammu and Kashmir.

The resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said, “The ongoing killing spree, genocide of young Kashmiris, hooliganism of Indian forces especially in south Kashmir, NIA/ED terrorism and ploy to change the state subject law in Jammu Kashmir will face stern resistance from Kashmiris.” »

Srinagar, August 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Mirwaiz-led Hurriyat forum has expressed serious concern over shifting of Hurriyat leaders Shahid-ul-Islam, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar and Farooq Ahmed Dar to New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail and questioning of the wife of senior resistance leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, by India’s Enforcement Directorate.

The forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar termed these acts as repressive measures to muzzle the genuine voice for freedom of Kashmir. He said, there is no justification in quizzing the wife of Shabbir Shah who had just gone to meet her husband and was detained in a police station. The statement described her arrest as serious violation of the dignity of the women and the legal procedure laid down by law. »

Srinagar, August 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference while reacting to the statement of Indian Minister of State, Jitendra Singh that Modi government has ‘clarity and conviction’ in its approach towards the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, has said that repressive and obstinate means will not help but prove counterproductive.

An APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said, Kashmiri people are mature enough to understand follies. He said that the puppet regimes in the past tried their best to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom sentiments but failed and these repressive steps would also prove a failure. He said, New Delhi and its henchmen in Kashmir have resorted to character assassination of pro-freedom leadership and gagging the genuine voices. “It will bring only shame for them,” he added. »

Srinagar, August 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the students of Kashmir University (KU) staged a pro-freedom demonstration during the visit of Governor, NN Vohra, to the campus, today.

The students assembled outside the Institute of Kashmir Studies where NN Vohra was chairing an official function.

The students while staged a pro-freedom rally against the Governor’s visit to the campus. They were holding banners and placards bearing pro-freedom slogans. »

Srinagar, August 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen, has condemned the attack on teachers and students by the Indian troops at a school in Pahalgam area saying that India is using all means to subjugate and force the Kashmiri people into accepting its illegal occupation over Jammu and Kashmir.

Nahida Nasreen in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “It is the second incident in the recent past when the armed forces entered a school and beat up teachers and students.” She said, in Pahalgam the troops barged into a school premises and after beating the teachers forcibly asked the students to sing Vande Mataram. »
