Srinagar, August 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has called for a shutdown in Kashmir on August 12 (Saturday) to protest the Indian attempts to abrogate Article 35-A and atrocities against people, especially those residing in south Kashmir. »

Srinagar, August 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one more Kashmiri youth in Pulwama district, today.

The youth identified as Umer was killed during a joint crackdown operation of Indian army, Central Reserve Police Force and police in Samboora area of the district. The killing led to complete shutdown marked by anti-India protests in the district. The troops fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells on the protesters in Pinglena area of the district. The authorities suspended mobile and Internet services in district after the killing.

Meanwhile, life continued to remain paralyzed due to the strike in north Kashmir on the second consecutive day, today, against the killing of three youth. The troops had killed Javid Ahmad Dar, Aabid Hamid Mir and Danish Showkat Dar in Amargarh area of Sopore on Saturday. All shops and other business establishments were closed while traffic was off the road in Sopore and Hajin towns. »

Srinagar, August 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has paid glorious tributes to Hurriyat leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz ahead of his 9th martyrdom anniversary.

A DFP spokesperson in a statement issued in Srinagar said the number of martyrs is increasing with each passing day. He said martyrs by rising above fear and greed have taught a lesson that one should prefer death with honour than life with dishonour. »

Srinagar, August 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, teachers and students of a school in Pahalgam area of Islamabad district have complained that they were manhandled by army men, today, and were directed to recite Indian anthem ‘Vande Mataram.

A teacher, who identified himself as Ajaz Ahmad, said that army men barged into the school in Yanner area of Pahalgam without any provocation. »

Srinagar, August 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a meeting of the General Council of Jammu and Kashmir Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen was held in Srinagar today with its President, Maulana Masroor Abbas Ansari in the chair.

More than 500 members of the General Council from across the territory and senior members participated in the meeting and discussed the latest situation of the territory.

Addressing the meeting, Hurriyat leader and the President of Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen, Maulana Masroor Abbas Ansari said that the unresolved Kashmir dispute was a threat to the peace of the south Asian region; therefore, its settlement was inevitable in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations. »
