Srinagar, August 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed, today, against the killing of three youth by Indian troops in Pulwama yesterday. Call for the strike was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

The authorities had imposed curfew and other restrictions in Khanyar, Maharaj Gunj, Safakadal, Rainawari, Kralkhud, Nowhatta and Maisuma areas of Srinagar to prevent people from coming to the streets. »

London, August 02 (KMS): The councilors and party heads of different Kashmiri organizations based in the UK have expressed grave concern over the illegal detention of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah.

The leaders at a press briefing in London said Shabbir Ahmad Shah was an icon of the present Kashmir movement and denying him basic living conditions by confining him in a small cell lacking even facility like a fan is a shameful act on the part of Indian government. »

Srinagar, August 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has said that Indian authorities are kidnapping Hurriyat leaders and are lodging them at unknown locations in New Delhi. He termed it a sheer political vendetta.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed deep concern over the kidnapping of ailing Hurriyat leaders, Peer Saifullah and Shahid-ul-Islam, saying that Indian authorities are reluctant to disclose their whereabouts. He said the authorities would be responsible if anything untoward happened to these leaders. »

Srinagar, August 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a youth who sustained serious bullet injuries in the firing of Indian troops on protesters in Pulwama, yesterday, succumbed at a hospital in Srinagar, today.

The 22-year-old, Akeel Ahmad Butt, was injured when the troops fired bullets and pellets on mourners at Hakripara in Pulwama, yesterday. He was shifted to District Hospital, Pulwama, in a critical condition from where he was referred to Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar. However, he succumbed to his injuries early this morning. He was a resident of Gabarpora Haal area of Pulwama. »
