APHC denounces custodial killing of civilians by Indian Army in Poonch

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly denounced the custodial killing of three innocent civilians by the Indian Army in Poonch district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the civilians, Safeer Hussain, Mohammad Showkat and Shabbir Ahmed were arrested by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation and killed in custody in the Bafliaz area of the district.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said the killing of innocent civilians in custody by Indian troops has become a routine matter in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and urged the international community to take cognizance of the war crimes being perpetrated by the troops in the occupied territory.

Senior APHC leader Agha Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi while condemning the civilian killings reiterated the need to hold a dialogue on the Kashmir dispute. He expressed solidarity with the families of the martyrs.

Meanwhile, APHCAJK Convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement in Islamabad expressed serious concern over the custodial killing in Poonch district and termed the current situation in the territory as most volatile after the rapid surge in target killings, arbitrary arrests and human rights abuses with impunity by Indian troops and secret agencies.

He said the Indian forces have let loose a reign of terror in every nook and corner of the besieged territory and demanded of the United Nations to take cognizance of the critical situation of IIOJK where over a million people have been made hostage by more than one million Indian forces and have been deprived of their fundamental rights.
