School for orphans in AJK win UAE global award

Dubai: Kashmir Orphans Relief Trust (KORT) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir has won the Zayed Sustainability Prize, a global award of the United Arab Emirates for 2024.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the students of KORT Educational Complex, Mirpur, received the Zayed Sustainability Prize from the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the occasion of COP 28 in Dubai. It was given for adopting a sustainable strategy on water use and launching positive agricultural activities under their Climate Action Plan.

The students of the school received this award from the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during the ongoing COP 28 in Dubai.

Chairman of the organization Chaudhry Muhammad Akhtar was also present on this occasion. After the announcement of the winners of the Zayed Sustainability Prize, the KORT in its press release called this award recognition of 18 years of unique services of the organization. This award is the most prestigious in the United Arab Emirates.
