Celebrating Foundation Day of Nagaland state at JK Governor House is like sprinkling salt on wounds: Omar Abdullah

Srinagar: National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah has said that the Governor House is rubbing salt on the wounds of the people of Jammu and Kashmir by celebrating the Foundation Day of Nagaland state.

According to Kashmir Media Service, an official spokesperson said that Nagaland Statehood Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and pomp at the Governor House in Jammu on Friday.

Omar Abdullah, referring to the celebration of Statehood Day of another state, said it is an irony that Union Territory Day was celebrated here after the statehood was snatched from Jammu and Kashmir.

The former Chief Minister of the territory wrote on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), “The irony of Jammu and Kashmir. We are celebrating the Foundation Day of Nagaland here at Governor House in Jammu, on the other hand when it comes to Jammu and Kashmir we celebrate “Union Territory Day”.
