Jammu: A protest demonstration was held in Jammu city against the anti-people policies of the authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, leading the demonstration, senior leader of Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami took a dig at the occupation authorities over the acute power crisis, especially in the Kashmir Valley, criticising them for not making any arrangements before the winter.
Talking to reporters, he expressed serious concern over the unending problems being faced by farmers, workers and the common man due to job losses, unemployment and spiralling prices of all essential commodities.
Tarigami also questioned the arrest of university students under draconian law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for celebrating India’s defeat against Australia in the Cricket World Cup final.
He said that the arrest of students is wrong and the authorities should not have slapped the UAPA. He said, sports should not be politicised.
