Friday prayers not allowed in Jamia Masjid for 7th consecutive week

Mirwaiz continued under house arrest in Srinagar

Srinagar: Friday prayers were not allowed at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar for the seventh consecutive week and senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq continued to be under house arrest at his residence in Srinagar city of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Anjuman Auqaf of the Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, in a statement said the police authorities disallowed the Anjuman from opening the gates of the mosque for Juma prayers.

Meanwhile, the Anjuman Auqaf denounced the continued illegal house detention of its chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and termed it frustration of the occupation authorities.
