Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Congress workers protested in Srinagar, today, against the electricity crisis in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the PDP leaders and workers staged a protest demonstration outside the party office in Srinagar. Led by Asiea Naqash, Abdul Qayoom Bhat and Arif Laigroo, the PDP workers tried to march towards Lal Chowk. However, Indian police prevented the protestors from marching beyond the adjacent General Post Office (GPO). The protesters were holding placards and posters demanding an end to load-shedding.

Meanwhile, Congress party workers also tried to stage a protest against the power crisis at Maulana Azad Road in Srinagar but were prevented by the police from leaving their party office.

There is no electricity supply even in hospitals while the officials are spending money on driving around the town, one of the protesters said. K
