One Muslim man killed, another injured in police firing in UP
Delhi: One Muslim man was killed and another injured after police fired upon them in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Sajid Qureshi (23) was killed and his friend Babloo (30) injured when the police personnel opened fire at them in Patwai area of Rampur district. Babloo suffered a bullet injury on his leg and is undergoing treatment.
The police claimed that the two men were going to slaughter a cow, Indian media reported.
It is to be mentioned here that Muslims are being killed every now and then by the cow vigilantes and Hindutva-influenced police personnel on mere suspicion of cow slaughter.
