‘India cannot suppress Kashmiris’ freedom spirit through use of brute use’

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter leaders have said that India by the use of brute force cannot suppress the spirit of the people of occupied |Jammu and Kashmir to achieve freedom from its illegal occupation.

The APHC-AJK chapter General Secretary Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Information Secretary Imtiaz Wani, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Sheikh Yaqoob, Zahid Ashraf, Syed Manzoor Ahmad Shah and Altaf Ahmad Butt in their statements issued in Islamabad said India is increasing the number of its troops in occupied Kashmir day by day to consolidate its illegal rule over Jammu and Kashmir which is very alarming.

They deplored that India has converted occupied Kashmir into a military cantonment and grabbing the lands of Kashmiris in the Israeli style and allotting that to its soldiers. They said New Delhi is also issuing Kashmir domicile to the Indian Hindus on a large scale to change the demographic composition of the occupied territory.

The APHC-AJK leaders said despite the deployment of hundreds of thousands of troops, India has failed to subdue the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiris. They made it clear that the Kashmiri people will not accept anything less than freedom from Indian rule and they have made unprecedented sacrifices for this purpose.

The APHC-AJK leaders maintained that sustainable peace cannot be established in South Asia without resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. They urged the UN Human Rights Council and other international human rights organizations to take cognizance of the ongoing killings, illegal arrests and other serious violations of human rights by Indian troops in IIOJK. They also called upon the international community to play its role in stopping the ongoing atrocities on Kashmiris and Palestinians by India and Israel and resolve both the conflicts without any further delay.
