Concern expressed over Kashmiri detainees’ plight in jails
Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) and other Hurriyat parties have expressed serious concern over the plight of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails of India and occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman and Hurriyat parties, including Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Front and Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi Jammu Kashmir, in their separate statements issues in Srinagar condemned the inhumane treatment of Kashmiri political detainees by the jail authorities.
They said that due to non-provision of basic facilities, including medical treatment, many detainees were suffering from various disorders and their health was deteriorating day by day.
They said the International Day of Non-Violence is being observed across the globe, today, but there is no significance in observing the day for the people of Jammu and Kashmir because India under Narendra Modi continues to commit war crimes in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
