Agha Moosvi demands release of all political prisoners in Kashmir
Srinagar: Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Agha Syed Hasaan Al-Moosvi Al-Safavi has welcomed the release of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from long house detention and demanded the release of all other political detainees languishing in jails of India and occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Agha Moosvi said in his address at the Karbala Martyrs’ Conference held at the Central Imam Bargah in Budgam said the release of Mir Waiz is a good move.
The conference was organized by Agha Syed Mujtaba Al Moosvi and was attended by people from different walks of life including scholars and poets including the Grand Mufti of Kashmir, Mufti Nasirul Islam, Pir Syed Ghulam Nabi, Maulana Masroor Abbas Ansari, Syed Yusuf Al Moosvi, Dr. Syed Mudassar , Syed Liaqat Moosvi, Prof. Zaman Azarda and Abbas Johar.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was released on Friday.
He was placed under house arrest in Srinagar on August 4, 2019, a day before the special status of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir was revoked.
