High-ranking Indian army, police personnel injured in attack in Kashmir
Srinagar: A Colonel, a Major and a senior Deputy Superintendent of Police among many Indian army and police personnel have been critically injured in an attack in Islamabad district, today.
There are reports that at least five Indian forces’ personnel sustained critical injuries the attack in Kokernag area of the district on Wednesday.
Among the injured include a Commanding Officer (CO), a Major, two Indian army soldiers, and a senior Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP).
The injured officers have been airlifted to a nearby hospital, and a joint operation by the Indian army and police is underway in Kokernag.
Top army and police officials including GOC 15 Corps Rajiv Ghai, Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh, Additional Director General of Police, Vijay Kumar, have rushed to the scene.
