Kashmir dispute must be resolved without any further delay: Safi

Geneva, March 20 (KMS): Kashmiri representative Ghulam Muhammad Safi has said that the lingering Kashmir dispute must be resolved without any further delay.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi in his statement issued after addressing the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Kashmir Contact Group meeting, said the recent statements on Kashmir by Pakistani leadership makes it unambiguously clear that Pakistan will continue to support the just struggle of Kashmiris and will never leave Kashmiri brethren alone, come what may.

He said that All Parties Hurriyat Conference is the real representative voice of the Kashmiris and it will continue its mission till the solution of the Kashmir dispute as per the relevant United Nations resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

He said that the Kashmir dispute must be settled as soon as possible in the interest of humanity, world peace and prosperity of the region. Negation of Kashmiris right to self-determination will only be a recipe for misery and disaster, he added.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi said the Kashmiris believe in the principle of equality and demand respectable free life with no discrimination of rights from the rest of the world. He said that the two-Nation Theory, which was the basis of the partition plan of the sub continent in 1947, is still valid for the peaceful and durable solution of the Kashmir dispute.

He said late Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Quaid Syed Ali Gilani’s slogan is ample proof that Kashmiris consider Pakistan its defence forces and people who sacrificed their loved ones for Kashmir cause, as saviours. Those playing in the hands of enemy should know that the day is not far off when IIOJK will satisfy the souls of martyr’s by joining Pakistan and thus fulfill the dream of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Quaid-e-Hurriyet-e-Kashmir Syed Ali Gilani, he maintained.
