Indian police raid houses of Yasmeen Raja, Zamruda Habib in IIOJK

Islamabad, March 07 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police raided the residences of Kashmiri women leaders Yasmeen Raja and Zamruda Habib in Srinagar and vandalized their properties.

The police personnel barged into the houses of the Kashmiri women leaders, ransacked goods, harassed the families and seized important documents including house registries and party letterheads.

The APHC-AJK Convener Mehmood Ahmad Saghar in a statement issued in Islamabad strongly condemned the brutal act of Indian police and said that such revengeful actions against women Hurriyat leaders are unfortunate and warrant the attention of global human rights organizations, particularly those who champion the women cause. He urged the United Nations Security Council, UN Human Rights Council and other international organizations to impress upon India for immediate release of the Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders including all detained women leaders.

Saghar termed the continued illegal detention of the Hurriyat leaders and workers as a serious violation of basic human rights and said that the Modi regime should stop arrests of innocent people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said that India has declared a war against Kashmiris who are martyred on a daily basis. He said that Indian soldiers are committing genocide of Kashmiris to change the demography of the Muslim majority Jammu and Kashmir.
