IIOJK authorities disallow Shab-e-Baraat prayers at Jamia Masjid Srinagar

Srinagar, March 07 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities disallowed the faithfulls from offering prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, on the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Barat (the night of forgiveness).

Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid in a statement in Srinagar said that police and administration officials came to the historic mosque located in Nowhatta area of Srinagar and locked its gates from the outside. They informed the members of Anjuman that as per the orders of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar no Shab-e-Barat prayers will be allowed to take place at the mosque.

The Anjuman strongly protested the highhandedness of the occupation authorities and called it a blatant violation of religious rights of the people and interference in their religious affairs.
