Muzaffarabad, February 23 (KMS): A protest sit-in was organized by the International Forum for Justice and Human Rights at Burhan Wani Chowk in Muzaffarabad, today, against the mass rape committed by Indian troops in Kunanposhpora area of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on February 23, 1991.
A large number of women, children and citizens participated in the anti-India sit-in and demanded a fair trial in the International Court of Justice for the Indian soldiers involved in the heinous crime.
A large number of women, girls, children, elders and youth participated in the protest and shouted slogans like “Give justice to Kashmiri women”, “Stop attacks on Kashmiri women and “Indian usurpers leave Jammu and Kashmir.”
The speakers said it has been thirty-two years since the Kunanposhpora tragedy took place, but no action has been taken against the Indian soldiers involved in the shocking crime. The lack of justice for Kashmiri women who were victims of sexual violence is a blot on the face of India’s fake democracy, they added.
They said that international human rights organizations should have raised an effective voice against violence against Kashmiri women by Indian soldiers, but despite the passage of 32 years, the silence of the world is causing Indian terrorist soldiers to spread more terror in IIOJK.
Vice Chairman of International Forum for Justice Mushtaq-ul-Isaam, Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, Raja Muhammad Aslam Khan, Director, Liberation Commission, AJK, Shaukat Javed Mir, Usman Ali Hashim, Dr Muhammad Manzoor, Iqbal Yasin, Abida Nisar, Musrat Sheikh, Shaghafta.
