Islamabad February 11 (KMS): Friends of Kashmir International, in collaboration with Youth Council Pakistan, organized a Solidarity Kashmir Conference in Islamabad, today, to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people.
Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Communication Ehsan Mazari addressing the conference said, “We stand with the Kashmiri brothers and sisters.” He said the government and people of Pakistan express solidarity with the people of Kashmir and support their birthright to self-determination.
Hurriyat leader Pervaiz Ahmad Shah Advocate in his address said that according to the United Nations resolutions, self-determination is the right of Kashmiriss, adding that the hearts of Kashmiris beat with the people of Pakistan.
He said that there is a need for continuity in Pakistan’s foreign policy regarding the Kashmir dispute, adding that Pakistan should persuade the United Nations to play a role in resolving the lingering Kashmir dispute.
Vice President of Friends of Kashmir, Abdul Hameed Lone on the occasion said that tripartite talks can be fruitful for the settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
Raja Khadim Hussain, Salim Haroon, Abid Abbasi, President of Youth Council of Pakistan Muhammad Shahzad Khan and others also addressed the conference.
