Bradford (UK), February 10 (KMS): Azad Jammu and Kashmir Parliamentary Secretary, Professor Taqdees Geelani, met the Member of the UK Parliament and Senior Vice Chairman of All Party Parliamentary Group on Kashmir, Barrister Imran Hussain, in Bradford.
Professor Taqdees Geelani thanked MP Imran Hussain for raising his voice in the UK Parliament against the grave violations of human rights being perpetrated by Indian troops in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. She said, the Kashmiri diaspora, particularly the Kashmiri parliamentarians, kept the Kashmir freedom movement alive at every forum and protested against the human rights violations in IIOJK.
Professor Taqdees Geelani said Kashmiris have rendered great sacrifices in their freedom movement and the struggle of martyred Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Gaur is a bright chapter in the history of Kashmir. She said all the political parties in Azad Jammu and Kashmir are united on the issue of Kashmir.
MP and Shadow Minister, Imran Hussain, said India has been committing the worst atrocities on the people of IIOJK for the last more than seven decades. He deplored that India has not yet fulfilled its promise to give self-determination to Kashmiris which is a violation of international law. He said that the voice will be raised at every forum of the world for the Kashmiris’ fundamental right, the right to self-determination.
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Self-Determination Movement International, Raja Najabat Hussain, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khan, and Peoples Party AJK leader Zubia Khurshid Raja were also present on the ocasion.
Raja Najabat Hussain said Afzal Guru and Maqbool Butt are the real heroes of Kashmiris who have accepted to kiss the gallows for freedom from Indian illegal occupation but did not bow down to the worst of Indian imperialism. He said the Kashmiri people will never let the blood of their martyrs go in vain and will continue their struggle for the right to self-determination till complete success.
Sardar Abdul Rahman Khan also presented Professor Taqdees Geelani and Zubia Khurshid, his own book.
