“Lawless” eviction drives create panic among IIOJK people: Omar Abdullah

Srinagar, February 06 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Vice President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Omar Abdullah has said that there is widespread fear due to the “lawless” eviction drives across the territory.

Omar Abdullah addressing a press conference in Srinagar said the eviction drives launched in the nook and corner of Kashmir have created panic among the people. “Scaring people will not yield any results, stop sending the bulldozers out. That is our first demand,” he said.

Hinting that dissent was being criminalized, he said, “Now that I am speaking here openly against the demolition drive, the authorities will demolish more properties belonging to JKNC leaders.”

To a question, he said, “Government has divided people on the basis of religion, caste, colour, creed, community and now it wants to divide them on economic basis and this is one more step towards polarizing the residents of Kashmir.”
