Muzaffarabad, January 31(KMS): Brisk preparations for observing Kashmir Solidarity Day are at their full swing in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on February 5 to express complete solidarity with the oppressed brethren in Indian illegally occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).
Political parties and activists have pledged to continue extending fullest support to the Kashmiris’ legitimate right to self-determination being denied by India for the last 76 years.
This year the day is being observed in the most tragic scenario followed by the August 5, 2019, unilateral action of scrapping the special status of the IIOJK by the Modi-led Indian government. The bleeding valley has been turned into the world’s largest prison following the imprisonment of the innocent Kashmiris protesting against the nefarious Indian action.
In AJK, arrangements are being given final shape to observe the day with traditional zeal and fervor. It would be a state holiday on February 5 throughout AJK.
People and the Governments of Pakistan and AJK observe the day every year not only to renew their deep-rooted love and affection for the people of IIOJK but also to reiterate their commitment and dedication to the liberation of the occupied territory from the Indian subjugation.
The day will dawn with special prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir, the success of the freedom struggle and expression of solidarity with the Kashmiri people. Mass rallies, symposia, walk-for-peace, convention meetings and speech declamations would be held in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan and abroad. A unique ceremony at all the six bridges which link Pakistan and AJK where a human chain comprising Pakistanis and Kashmiris would be made.
Commenting on the scheduled observance of the Kashmir Solidarity Day this year, Chairman National Events Organizing Committee and Mirpur Deputy Commissioner Chaudhry Amjad Iqbal said the Kashmir liberation movement is in full swing at both sides of the Line of Control and the celebration of Kashmir Solidarity Day always gives the movement a fresh momentum.
Meanwhile, several religious and political parties will also join rallies and demonstrations on February 5.
In Sukkur, the Jamaat-i-Islami has planned a ‘Kashmir Solidarity Rally’ which will be addressed by its senior leaders including Molana Hizbul Ullah Jakhro, Mumataz Hussain Sehto and others.
Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, Pakistan Sunni Tehreek, Pakistan Muslim League- Functional, Shaheed Dodo Soomro Welfare organization besides other welfare organizations will also hold protest rallies and demonstrations across the northern Sindh to mark the day.
