Shopkeeper shot at in Indian state Punjab

Phagwara, India, January 27 (KMS): Unidentified motorcyclists shot at and injured a shopkeeper in Indian state Punjab.

The shopkeeper, Sanjay Sachdeva (34), was closing his shop when he was shot at and injured on Thursday night in Ankhi Nagar Phagwara area of the state.

The victim was rushed to the civil hospital and was later referred to a private facility. His condition is said to be critical, SHO Amandeep Nahar said.

The officer said that it was not known if an old hostility was behind the incident or if the bikers had come with the intention to loot.

“We are scanning CCTV footage to identify the culprit,” the SHO claimed.
