Authorities take away over 40,000 kanals of land from people in IIOJK’s Islamabad

Srinagar, January 21 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities have taken away a total of more than 40,000 kanals of land from the people in Islamabad district in the name of anti-encroachment drive.

More than 4200 kanals of land have been taken away from people in the last three days alone.

The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, Dr Basharat Qayyum, said that lands had been identified in different tehsils and the anti-encroachment campaign will continue with full force. He said about 3150 kanals of land have been allotted in Islamabad Tehsil. Similarly, he said 4398 kanals of land have been transferred in Bijbehara Tehsil, so far.

He said about 1450 kanals of land have been relieved in the last two days in Islamabad sub-division alone. He said that about 11300 kanals in Pahalgam sub-division, 4100 kanals in Kokernag sub-division and 10900 kanals of land have been relieved in Doro sub-division. He said that legal action will be taken against the obstructionists.

Let it be clear that the Hindutva government is taking away the lands from the people in the name of the anti-encroachment campaign in IIOJK, which have been in their possession for many decades. The main objective is to resettle Indian citizens so that the Muslim majority in the area can be converted into a minority.
