Srinagar, January 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reports about the killing of four Kashmiri youth in a fake encounter by Indian police in the Sidra area of Jammu outskirts on December 28 have been authenticated with the ordering of a magisterial probe into the gruesome incident, by the local authorities.
On December 28 last year, police said four militants were killed in a morning encounter in the Sidra area of Jammu outskirts after a truck ferrying them was allegedly intercepted at a check-post by Indian forces ensuing in a shootout.
The police didn’t reveal the identities of the slain youth but said it recovered weapons from “the encounter site”.
However, Kashmir Media Service on the basis of reliable sources had refuted the Indian police claim and said that the youth were innocent who were martyred in a fake encounter.
Now the appointment of Assistant Commissioner, Jammu, Piyush Dhotra as an enquiry officer to conduct the probe into the said incident has verified the KMS’s narrative.
“I have been directed to conduct a magisterial enquiry and submit the report to the district magistrate, Jammu”, Dhotra said in a notice on Wednesday.
The probe has been ordered in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Human Rights Commission.
