School Principal forced Dalit students to clean toilet in Tamil Nadu
New Delhi, December 04 (KMS): A school principal in Tamil Nadu’s Erode district forced Dalit students to clean a school toilet.
The mother of one of the students filed a complaint against the school principal. “Ms Geetha Rani singled out only Scheduled Castes (SC) children to clean the toilet,” the 5th Class student’s mother said in her complaint, as per the media reports.
She said she learnt of the incident after her son had to be hospitalised with dengue recently. “When I asked him how he got dengue, my son said he was bitten by mosquitoes when he handled bleaching powder and cleaned the toilet daily.”
