India’s masquerading as a victim of terrorism is a facade
Islamabad, November 18 (KMS): India hosting a conference on the theme of countering terrorism and Indian top leaders including Narendra Modi and Amit Shah talking of a united fight against the menace is nothing but an extreme example of hypocrisy and duplicity on the part of New Delhi as the country has been a known sponsor, abettor and financer of terrorism in the region for a long time.
This was stated in a report released by Kashmir Media Service in response to ‘No Money No Terror’ conference being held in Delhi and addresses of Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and Home Minister, Amit Shah, at the event.
Speaking at the conference, Modi claimed, “Certain countries support terrorism as part of their foreign policy. They offer political, ideological and financial support to them… There must be a cost imposed on such countries”. He also claimed, “We consider that even a single attack is one too many. Even a single life lost is one too many. So, we will not rest till terrorism is uprooted.”
Amit Shah in his address said, “Terrorism is, undoubtedly, the most serious threat to global peace and security….To confront terrorism, we have made significant progress in fortifying the security architecture, as well as the legal and financial systems.” In a veiled attack on Pakistan, he claimed there are countries that “seek to undermine or even hinder, our collective resolve to fight terrorism….. We have seen that some countries protect and shelter terrorists, protecting a terrorist is equivalent to promoting terrorism”.
The report said the fact of the matter is that the people of Pakistan, the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and India’s own minorities are victims of Indian state-sponsored terrorism.
As far as India’s state terrorism against Pakistan is concerned, Islamabad made public a dossier in November, 2020 containing irrefutable proofs of the Indian sponsorship of terrorism in the country. In the dossier, Islamabad provided specific evidence of financing, training, harbouring, and weapons supply by Indian secret agencies to terrorists to cause mayhem inside Pakistan. The specific evidence presented by Pakistan provided a concrete proof of Indian financial and material sponsorship of multiple terrorist organisations, including UN-designated terrorist organisations Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, Balochistan Liberation Army and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan. The report said that the dossier exposing India’s real face before the international community was also shared with the United Nations, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council as well as other influential world capitals.
India’s hypocrisy is also evident from its state-sponsored terrorism in IIOJK where over one million Indian soldiers continue to terrorise, torture and torment innocent Kashmiris with impunity. Since 1989, the Indian occupation troops have extra-judicially martyred over 96,140 Kashmiris, arbitrary arrested more than 165,300 and gang-raped over 11, 250 women besides torturing thousands of people in the occupied territory.
Highlighting India’s reign of terror against its minorities including Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and Dalits, the report said, RSS-backed racist Modi government is using terror as a policy to intimidate them across India. It said there is an alarming rise of Islamophobia in India under Modi which has penetrated even in state institutions like its judiciary and army. It maintained that under the state patronage Hindutva leaders are using hate campaign as a weapon against religious minorities especially Muslims who are lynched by cow vigilantes and killed in pogroms led by RSS-BJP goons. It added that the Hindutva BJP government is planning ethnic cleansing of Muslims through discriminatory laws like Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC).
For too long, the report said, India has gotten away with its state-sponsored terrorism in the region. The report maintained that it is high time for the world to shun its indifference towards Indian state-sponsored terrorism and bring the Indian rulers to justice for promoting, planning, abetting and financing terrorist activities in Pakistan, killing thousands of innocent people in IIOJK and hounding minorities within the country. The international community must make sure that voices of victims of Indian state terrorism in Pakistan, IIOJK and across India are heard, the report concluded.
