Kashmiri truck driver beaten in Indian state of Punjab


Srinagar, November 08, (KMS): A Kashmiri truck driver was beaten by forces’ personnel at toll plaza in Indian state of Punjab.

President of IIOJK Truck Operators Welfare Union, Hilal Malik said that the truck driver identified as Sahil Iqbal of Yaripora, Pulwama in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir was injured after he was beaten by men at toll plaza in Mukerian area of Punjab. The injured driver was admitted to a civil hospital at Mukerian.

“We demand of Punjab police to take strict action against the culprits,” he said.

Meanwhile, a police official from Mukerian Punjab told media that an FIR has been registered under relevant sections of law and further investigation was going on.
