Hindutva Shiv Sena leader shot dead in Amritsar

Amritsar, November 04 (KMS): Hindutva organization Shiv Sena’s leader, Sudhir Suri, was shot dead, today, in Amritsar city of the Indian state of Punjab.

According to Kashmir Media Service, police said the incident took place outside Gopal Mandir on Majitha Road – one of the busiest places – in Amritsar city. Sudhir Suri and some other leaders of Shiv Sena were holding a protest on the same place, the police said.

As per the police, more than five shots were fired at Suri after which he fell down and was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to the injuries, the police said.

Sudhir Suri had five hate speech cases against him.

Reacting to the incident, Punjab BJP president Ashwani Sharma said the law and order situation has completely broken down in the state.

Congress state president Amarinder Singh Raja said the law and order in state was going from bad to worse.
