Lahore, October 15 (KMS): Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi has reconstituted a special committee on Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Punjab Parliamentary Affairs Minister Basharat Raja has been appointed as the convener of the committee, while MPAs Abdullah Warraich, Nadeem Qureshi, Mahendr Pal Singh, Neelam Hayat Malik and the chief secretary will be its members, says a notification. One member from PML-Q and two opposition members will also be nominated as members.
As per the notification, the Punjab Information Secretary has been appointed as the secretary and member of the committee.
The committee would monitor human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in IIOJK.
The notification says that the efforts of the government of Pakistan to achieve the right of self-determination of Kashmiris will be strengthened and supported.
