World’s attention invoked towards threat posed to regional peace by Indian policies
United Nations, October 05 (KMS): Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Munir Akram, has invoked the attention of the international community towards the serious threat posed by India’s Hindutva and hegemonic policies to the peace and security of the South Asian region.
Ambassador Akram was addressing the UN General Assembly’s First Committee dealing with disarmament and international security matters. He deplored that India has stationed nine hundred thousand troops in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to suppress the Kashmiris’ just struggle for securing their inalienable right to self-determination guaranteed to them by the UN through its several resolutions.
The Pakistani envoy said that the RSS-backed Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government wants to turn India into a Hindutva state by victimizing its minorities, particularly over 200 million Muslims.
He pointed out that India also threatens Pakistan through deployment of vast majority of its armed forces against it and by pursuing the doctrines envisaging fighting a “limited war under the nuclear overhang” and resorting to “Cold Start” surprise attacks.
Ambassador Akram maintained that Pakistan is determined to pursue regional peace, development and strategic stability, based on sovereign equality and mutual respect, despite Indian provocations.
