UN asked to prevent India from deliberately ruining Kashmiris’ economy

Islamabad, September 28 (KMS): Leaders of Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter of All Parties Hurriyat Conference have strongly condemned the closure of Srinagar-Jammu highway saying that the Indian government is deliberately ruining the Kashmiris’ economy.

Hurriyat leaders including Chaudhry Shaheen Iqbal, Altaf Ahmed Wani, Qazi Imran, Abdul Majeed Mir, Khalid Wani, Ashfaq Barwal, Nadeem Wani, Nazir Karnai, Nazir Ahmed and Syed Gulshan in a joint statement in Islamabad said that after August 5, 2019, India has completely converted the occupied territory into a prison and is inflicting all kinds of atrocities on the oppressed Kashmiris.

They said that the Srinagar-Jammu highway was closed at a time when the harvesting season of apples is at its peak in the Kashmir Valley. They deplored that the closure has wasted the year-long hard work of thousands of Kashmiris associated with the business.

The Hurriyat leaders urged the international community, especially the United Nations, to take a strict notice of the Indian government’s criminal act of deliberately ruining Kashmiris economically.
