Saghar denounces Modi govt’s economic blockade on IIOJK fruit traders
Islamabad, September 26 (KMS) The Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, has said that Modi-led fascist Indian government has imposed an undeclared economic blockade on occupied Jammu and Kashmir due to which the Kashmir’s economy is suffering a heavy loss.
Mahmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement issued in Islamabad said thousands of trucks loaded with fruits have been stuck on the Srinagar-Jammu highway for the last 10 days and are not being allowed to move forward.
He said due to this the farmers and traders of the Kashmir valley have to bear heavy losses. He said the Modi government is destroying the businesses of the people of the occupied territory to economically weaken them.
It is to be mentioned that the apple industry, which is worth about Rs 8000 crores, is the backbone of the economy of Kashmir and more than 35 lakh people are directly or indirectly involved in this industry. After August 5, 2019, due to the anti-Kashmir policies of the Modi government, the farmers and traders of fruits, especially apples, are facing many problems, including creating obstacles in the transportation of fruits.
Meanwhile, Mahmood Ahmed Saghar expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of the religious scholar and Sheikh-ul-Islam Allama Yusuf al-Qaradawi.
He said Allama Yusuf al-Qaradawi was a bold and fearless religious scholar, teacher, jurist, mujahid, poet and writer and prayed for the high status of the deceased.
