Jammu, September 26 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leader and United Peace Alliance Chairman, Mir Shahid Saleem has said that Modi-led fascist Indian government is adopting various tactics to harm Kashmir’s economy, which is condemnable.
Mir Shahid Saleem in a statement issued in Jammu deplored that thousands of trucks loaded with apples and other fruits were not allowed to ply on the Srinagar-Jammu highway.
He said people associated with the horticulture industry in IIOJK have been protesting for several days and demanding that fruit-laden vehicles should be allowed to ply on the highway but the government officials are not listening to them.
He said thousands of trucks loaded with fruits have been stuck on the Srinagar-Jammu highway and are not being allowed to move forward due to which farmers associated with the fruit industry are facing huge losses.
Mir Shahid Saleem said New Delhi has caused serious damage to the fruit industry of Kashmir, bringing down the prices of Kashmiri apples by introducing inferior Iranian apples in the Indian market.
He said the fruit industry, especially apples, is the backbone of Kashmir’s economy and instead of helping the fruit growers, the authorities are harming them in various ways. He questioned the authorities whether they wanted to punish the Kashmiri workers collectively by doing this.
Mir Shahid Saleem appealed to Indian farmers organizations and other organizations to play their role in solving the problems of Kashmiri farmers.
