Farooq Rehmani hails PM’s UNGA speech

Islamabad, September 25 (KMS): Former convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has hailed the speech of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said that Shehbaz Sharif in his address highlighted the right to self-determination for the people of Kashmir and raised repressive and oppressive laws of India in the occupied territory.

He said the prime minister rightly and forcefully described Islamophobia as a great global phenomenon and held India’s Hindu nationalist government responsible for engaging in the “worst manifestation of Islamophobia.”

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said,” It is noteworthy that while India has made life of Kashmiris worst by violating the UN resolutions and campaigning to change their religion while Pakistan is ready to accept UN mediation or facilitation on the question of the future of the whole Jammu and Kashmir and has no apprehensions or fears in this regard.”

He urged the big powers and members of the global community to come for rescue of the Kashmiris by emphasising the Indian troops’ withdrawal from Kashmir and holding a free and fair plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir as decided under the relevant resolutions.
