Suicides among IIOJK people increased manifold post Modi regime’s August 05, 2019 move
Srinagar, September 22 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian repression is taking heavy toll on the life of the people of the territory as over 120 people ended their lives in the last sixteen months.
The Indian brutalities on the Kashmiris have increased manifold since Narendra Modi-led fascist government repealed the special status of IIOJK and put it under military siege on August 05, 2019, causing depression to the people and forcing them to resort to the extreme step.
As per the latest data issued by the SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) post Covid-19 pandemic, IIOJK has witnessed a huge spurt in the suicide attempts and suicides.
The figures suggest that from February 2021 onwards, 365 attempts of suicides were recorded while as 127 persons died after committing the suicide. “238 survived after taking extreme steps,” the figures reveal.
The data states that Badgam district reported highest number of attempt to suicides at 72 followed by Baramulla district at 61 and Islamabad district at 55.
