Srinagar, September 20 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI-M) has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is imposing its Hindutva agenda in the territory.
The CPI-M Secretary in IIOJK, Ghulam Nabi Malik, in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed serious concern over the forcing of school children to sing the Hindu hymns. He said the diktat has exposed the BJP government’s agenda of saffornisation of education.
He said a video is making rounds on social media, in which school staff is seen asking students in a class to sing the Hindu hymn in a government school of Kulgam district.
“The rituals and beliefs of a particular caste or faith cannot be imposed on the education system of a secular nation. Such activities can prove detrimental to harmonious educational atmosphere,” the CPI-M Secretary said.
