Arrest of three Muslim religious leaders by Indian police in IIOJK condemned
Srinagar, September 16 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has strongly condemned the arrest of three Muslim religious leaders, Maulana Abdul Rasheed Dawoodi, Maulana Mushtaq Ahmad Veeri and Abdul Majeed Dar Almadni, by Indian police from the Kashmir Valley.
APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that the Indian authorities are arresting innocent people of Kashmir and especially the youth, adding that even religious scholars were not spared.
He said that such undemocratic actions could not weaken the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiri people and they would continue their struggle till taking it to its logical conclusion.
Meanwhile, APHC-AJK chapter Convener, Mahmood Ahmad Saghar and leaders, Imtiaz Wani, Mohammad Umair and Mushtaq Ahmad Butt, Syed Manzoor Ahmed Shah and Pasban-e-Hurriyat Chairman, Uzair Ahmad Ghazali in their separate statements said the people in IIOJK are not allowed to speak. They said that Hurriyat leaders, activists and journalists were being booked under the black law Public Safety Act (PSA) and now the ulema are being silenced.
They deplored that the occupation authorities are trying to suppress the Kashmiris’ political voice and compel the Kashmiris to surrender for the real aspirations and right to self-determination.
