Islamabad, September 01 (KMS): Speakers at a conference in Islamabad have said that the veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, was a great leader of this century whose ideals are the guiding principle for the Kashmiris.
The conference organized under the auspices of Friends of Kashmir International on the occasion of the first martyrdom anniversary of Syed Ali Gilani was attended by a large number of people.
The speakers said that the whole life of late Baba-e-Hurriyat Syed Ali Gilani consisted of constant struggle against the Indian illegal occupation and the government of India was so afraid of him that his dead body was also buried in darkness.
Today, the Kashmiris considers the slogan “Hum Pakistani hen aur Pakistan hamara hey (we are Pakistanis and Pakistan is ours)” as a landmark in the struggle of the Kashmir freedom movement.
The speakers included President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony Maulana Mufti Abdul Shakoor, Chairperson of Friends of Kashmir, former AJK Prime Ministers, Atique Ahmad Khan and Abdul Qayyum Niazi, chairperson of Friends of Kashmir, Ghazala Habib, Shah Ghulam Qadir, Abdul Rasheed Turabi, Abdul Hameed Lone, Manzoor Ahmed Shah, Mushaal Mallick, Altaf Hussain Wani, Muhammad Shafi Dar, Dr Mujahid Gilani, Faisal Rathore, Saeed Muhammad Yusuf and Shabbir Ahmed Tantrey.
