Syed Ali Gilani remembered in Muzaffarabad event, rally

Muzaffarabad, September 01 (KMS): The first martyrdom anniversary of Baba-e-Hurriyat and icon of Kashmir freedom movement, Syed Ali Gilani, was observed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

A ceremony and a rally were organized in this regard by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir at Burhan Wani Chowk in Muzaffarabad. A large number of people including elderly, youth, children and women participated in these events and raised slogans in favour of the veteran leader and other Kashmiri martyrs. They were also carrying banners on which the sayings of Syed Ali Gilani were written.

Speaking on the occasion saluted the struggle of Syed Ali Gilani, who fought eternally for the freedom of the people of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian illegal occupation. They said the Kashmiris will always remember the sacrifices of the veteran leader for the Kashmir cause.

The speakers maintained that the sacrifices of Syed Ali Gilani and other Kashmiri martyrs will not be allowed to go waste and the Kashmiri people will continue their mission till complete success. They said that the veteran leader was always steadfast against Indian military occupation and India’s oppression and imperialist tactics could not force him to give up his just cause.

The speakers said that Syed Ali Gilani was a true lover and fearless spokesman of Pakistan in the occupied territory. “Today, on the first martyrdom day of Syed Ali Gilani, the people of Kashmir pay homage to him and pledge that resistance against Indian occupation will continue till freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian illegal occupation,” they said.

The speakers included former AJK Prime Minister Raja Mohammad Farooq Haider, Municipal Minister Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, Maulana Abdul Aziz Alvi, APHC-AJK leaders Dawood Khan and Mushtaqul Islam, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Latif Abbasi, Chairman Muhajireen camp Master Yusuf Butt, Director Kashmir Liberation Commission Raja Sajjad Latif Khan, Shaukat Javed Mir, Javed Ahmad Mughal, Mohammad Azam Ghazi, Abdul Razzaq Khan, Raja Nisar Ahmad Shaikh, Raja Sajeed Khan, Mohammad Amir, Usman Ali Hashim, Yasir Naqvi and Bilal Ahmed Farooqui.

Shamsher Khan, Mushtaq Ahmad Butt, Majid Ahmad Sheikh, Iqbal Awan, Chaudhry Mushtaq, Iqbal Yasin, Chaudhry Firoz Din, Ali Muhammad Butt, Abdul Hameed Lone, Sardar Javed and Nishad Ahmad Butt specially attended the event.

Later, a rally was taken out from Burhan Wani Chowk to Garhipan Chowk to pay homage to the veteran leader. The participants raised high-pitched slogans in favour of Syed Ali Gilani, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Burhan Wani, Muhammad Maqbool Butt, Muhammad Afzal Guru and other Kashmiri martyrs.
