Nayeem Khan urges people to assemble at Gilani’s grave on his anniversary

New Delhi, August 28 (KMS): Senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Nayeem Ahmed Khan has urged the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to assemble at Hyderpora in Srinagar on September 1 to pay tributes to Kashmir’s iconic liberation leader Syed Ali Gilani on his first martyrdom anniversary.

Nayeem Ahmed Khan in a message from India’s Tihar jail, while highlighting the matchless sacrifices of the martyred leader in the Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle, said that Gilani was a fearless Kashmiri leader. “Syed Ali Gilani’s life long struggle for the Kashmir cause would be written in golden words in the annals of Kashmir’s recent history”, he added.

“His lifelong unwavering struggle and sacrifice for the cause of Kashmir is indeed a proud legacy that will continue to inspire Kashmiris upcoming generations”, he said, adding that his demise was a great loss for the freedom movement.

Recalling his long association with Syed Ali Gilani, the APHC leader said, “We endured imprisonment together and worked together for many years to promote the Kashmir cause.

Urging people of Kashmir to assemble at Hyderpora graveyard to pay tributes to the great leader on his anniversary, Nayeem Khan said that it was high time that the people should remember the heroes who lived and died for the freedom of Kashmir.

He also urged religious scholars to pay tributes and offer special prayers in mosques for the deceased leader.

It is worth mentioning here that Indian forces’ personnel had shamelessly snatched away the dead body of Syed Ali Gilani and buried it at Hyderpora graveyard in the dark of night against his will.

Meanwhile, APHC leaders Farida Behanji and advocate Davinder Singh Behl in their statements also paid tributes to Syed Ali Gilani. Pasbaan-e-Hurriyat Chairman Uzair Ahmad Ghazali said that Syed Ali Gilani would always be remembered by the people of Jammu and kashmir.
