Islamabad, August 26 (KMS): The Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Mahmood Ahmad Saghar, has strongly denounced the authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir for not allowing senior APHC leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, to offer Juma prayers at historic Jamia Masjid, Srinagar.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been under continued house detention since August 05, 2019, when Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government repealed the special status of IIOJK and put it under military siege.
Mahmood Ahmad Saghar in a statement issued in Islamabad said that preventing Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from offering Juma prayers exposed the hollow claim of the occupation authorities that the Mirwaiz was not under house arrest. He said with today’s action the real face of New Delhi stands exposed before the world.
He called upon the UN Human Rights Council to constitute a commission to investigate the grave human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in IIOJK since decades. He also urged the international community to hold New Delhi accountable for the killing of innocent Kashmiris and play role in the immediate release of all Kashmiris languishing in different jails in IIOJK and India.
