Jammu, August 21 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior politician Chaudhry Lal Singh has termed the news about the granting of voting rights to outsiders unfortunate and unacceptable and said democracy in the territory is under threat.
Lal Singh addressing a press conference in Jammu questioned that under which law non-local residents are being given the right to vote in Kashmir. “We strongly condemn this move of the Election Commission and request the people to show solidarity and fight together against it,” he said.
He said the identity of the Kashmiri people is in danger and a treat. “We do not accept it and appeal people to come on roads. He said in 12 states of India, including Gujarat, no one outsider can get identity of that states, jobs and other benefits of state.
Saying that the proposal of the Election Commission is a threat to recognition of Jammu and Kashmir, Lal Singh said Bharatiya Janata Party is taking such steps for its own interest.
Asked about the All-Party meeting, which has been called by Farooq Abdullah on Monday, he said that they have only called the leaders of Kashmir and not them. “So we will fight for the people of Jammu in Jammu itself against the EC’s move.”
